Alexander Wang For H&M: 5 Things You Need To Know

Say what you want, but the collaborations between H&M and famous fashion houses are in high demand from the moment they’re launched. Fashionistas everywhere flock to the nearest H&M stores (or, you know, browsers) to shop their favorite looks. Clothes are flying off the racks and general madness ensues… and it seems that this will be the case once again this fall.

Come November, we will be able to shop the latest designer collaboration: Alexander Wang X H&M.

Here are 5 things you need to know, while you wait to hit the “Add To Bag” button:

1. LAUNCH DATE: The collection will launch in select H&M stores and online at hm.com on November 6th. Before that, you can watch the launch event live from New York. The live streaming will start on October 16th at 8:15 PM EST on the H&M website.

2. EARLYBIRD: The first look from the collab was worn by Rihanna during New York Fashion Week. She sported leggings and a crop top, both with the word “Wang” written across them.

3. GET SPORTY: Unsurprisingly, the theme for the collection revolves around sports. With this collection, Alexander Wang treats us to a fine selection of sporty-luxe pieces that are as true to his design aesthetics as they are to H&M’s price points. The collection includes both womenswear and menswear and, judging by the lookbook, it will massively pump up our street creds. Scuba dresses, sweatshirts, leggings, gloves, beanies, sweatshirts, knee-high socks and parkas – they all speak of a credible and action-ready street-style collection.

4. THE WANG EFFECT: If you love his designs, you’ll want to show them off! Most of the pieces in the collection, from beanies to tops, gloves and socks all prominently display the designer’s name: WANG.

5. IT’S A FIRST: This is the first time H&M collaborates with an American designer. Alexander Wang has launched his namesake brand back in 2007. Ever since, his name has become synonymous with a cool, effortless and often sport-themed chicness. All the IT girls have flocked to wear his latest clothes and killer shoes, and for good reason: he knows what’s cool and he knows how to put his own signature spin on it.

Spring 2013 Fashion Trends – The Peek-a-Boo Effect

Clearly, the fashionable way of highlighting small parts of your body doesn’t ever recall for you to leave half of the garment home. Looking seductive and sporting an alluring look that’s both tasteful, and on trend it’s possible if you choose the right elements. With the Holiday season right around the corner, there’s nothing wrong in wanting to look feminine and showcase some skin along the way, as long as  you keep your overall appearance powerful and glamorous. Today we are going to look at the spring 2013 fashion trends and what will be popular based of various styles we have seen on the runway this year.

Sheer fabrics, intricate cut-outs, midriff-baring separates, high-slits, they’re all available in an array of exciting and unexpected designs that gracefully play upon the peek-a-boo effect.

Selecting our five favorite peek-a-boo looks straight out of the runways wasn’t an easy assignment given the multitude of collections that embraced the luscious trend for Spring 2013, but we managed to pick out the ones that are most wearable, based on five different styling approaches. Be sure to find yours in the fashionable selection below.

01. The Edgy Approach. We’re starting off strong, with a powerful look conceived for the bold and fearless women who want to rock the peek-a-boo trend without having to face the fear of actually loosing the heavy factor. Alexandrer Wang’s deconstructing experiment featured in his Spring 2013 collection made the garments look like they were floating on the skin. The intricate separates with precise cut-outs and edgy slits, gracefully carried the Tron-like effect, as the designer himself loves to call it. The styling included severe futuristic elements, sleek low-ponytails and a bold, strong, and sexy make-up that perfectly complemented the numbers.

02. The Glamorous Approach. Delightfully sophisticated, yet driven and bold, Badgley Mischka’s glamorous approach on the peek-a-boo effect is the perfect embodiment of the “haunting beauty” that amazed the designers in the 1935 movie adaptation of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Their exquisite creations were figure flattering and beyond alluring thanks to the lace cut-outs that left plenty to the imagination. Contrasting with the garments’ full-length, the delicate cut-outs stood out as the ultra-feminine interpretation of the tantalizing trend.

03. The Elegant With A Twist Approach. The understated elegance of the classic little black dress, meets an entirely new fashion direction in the Akris Spring 2013 collection. While it’s pretty obvious that the fashion house chose not to play upon discretion, the dangerous elements of sheerness, strategically placed along the bodice and hips, are sensual enough, without giving away too much, and elegant enough, without being a boring cliche. Bold red lips and black ballerina flats added just the right amount of delicacy to the controversial number.

04. The Romantic Approach. The super light numbers that walked the runway for Giambatistta Valli’s Spring 2013 collection showcased the perfect balance between romantic and seductive, sleek and feminine, modern and chic. His soft approach on the peek-a-boo effect was based upon midriff-baring separates, that mixed cropped tops and tailored skirts, beautifully adorned by delicate blossoms embellishments. Metallic pumps and sleek hairstyles toughed up the ensembles.

05. The Urban Approach. Diane von Fursteberg’s Spring 2013 fashion trends collection was all about evoking the sophisticated urban spirit, by drawing inspiration from the most exotic destinations. Her 1960 fashion approach mixed flattering palazo pants featuring peplum accents, with geometrically sheer cut-outs, styled with loud accessories. Bold color combos in contrasting hues, like dark blue and bright orange, made for some unexpected looks that screamed femininity and modernism.

Miranda Kerr Rules The New York City Streets

They say chic doesn’t ever come effortlessly, but all it takes to realize that for some ladies it’s practically impossible to get it wrong, is having a quick look at Miranda Kerr‘s impeccable fashion style. Now that the temperatures have dropped considerably, it’s only fair to begin seeking comfort in the process of gathering inspiration for the seasons to come, especially when that inspiration is described as timeless. The 29 years-old supermodel is maybe the best dressed celebrity when it comes to street style, raising the bars pretty high for anyone willing to follow on her footsteps.

Whether she attends a business meeting, or she simply enjoys a walk with her son, Miranda always manages to somehow look flawless. Her candid shoots look like pages torn out from a high-fashion magazine, and that’s why we decided to celebrate Miranda’s effortless style with five of the most beautiful looks she recently wore on the streets of New York. Get ready to steal her style, to find out why are her outfits always head to toe perfect, and what she loves to wear.

Miranda Kerr debuted her fashionable month of November in Manhattan, photographed as she was headed to attend the rehearsals for the 2012 Victoria’s Secrets Fashion Show. The Australian supermodel sported a chic but undeniable sexy ensemble, rocking a pair of black leather over-the-knee boots from Hermes’ Fall 2012 collection. She paired the boots to an Alexander Wang gray tweed mini-dress featuring black side panels and long sleeves, and to a super chic wool blend double breasted Givenchi coat. A pair of Flint Hasta Luego sunglasses and a Givenchi black leather duffle, perfectly accessorized Miranda’s stylish ensemble.

On November 6, Miranda Kerr sported a fashionable and beyond inspiring layered look while in New York City. She took on the streets wearing a sheer gray Isabel Marant Fall 2010 sweater, under a Chloe patchwork mid-blue denim shirt that she topped with a gray Isabel Marant Khan tweed coat. Miranda kept her look edgy and color coordinated, by incorporating a pair of Maison Martin Margiela black leather high-waisted shorts into the stylish outfit. The same Givenchi “Antigona” black leather duffle, a pair of feminine Miu Miu Fall 2011 cat eye sunglasses, and a pair of Isabel Marant berry suede and leather boots complemented the modern look.

Proof that even the celebrities have their favorite wardrobe items that they love to wear on repeat, Miranda Kerr took another spin on her gray Isabel Marant Khan tweed coat, and successfully inserted it into a slightly more casual outfit. She paired the elegant coat to a blue denim button down shirt, and to a pair of Nobody “Cult” dark blue skinny jeans. To add a touch of fun to her minimal look, Miranda opted for a pair of leopard print loafers, and a retro pair of Stella McCartney two tone sunglasses. A luxurious Cartier Juste Un Clou nail bracelet, and a Burberry the Barrel suede nubuck leather bag added the final touches.

When these gorgeous images of Miranda Kerr surfaced the internet on November 12, I think every woman that saw them must have wished to take her place for at least one day. Fashion met perfection when the supermodel walked the New York streets in her Victoria Beckham three-quarter sleeve sheath dress featuring a V-neckline, styled with a Miu Miu boxcalf leather belt. The Miu Miu Fall 2011 cat eye sunglasses, a pale blue Prada Pyramid Accordion frame leather bag and a pair of beige Lanvin pointed-toe asymmetric leather pumps completed the flawless look.

The most recent pictures of Miranda Kerr spotted the supermodel at the Milk Studios on November 14, together with her super-adorable son, Flynn. For the day, Miranda chose an elegant all-black ensemble with just a hint of cobalt blue. She matched a black mini-dress to a black Isabel Marant Fall 2010 wool cocoon coat, and to the black leather Givenchy “Antigona” duffle. The Linda Farrow Luxe black and natural python sunglasses, and a pair of Pierre Hardy colorblock suede sandals emphasized the modern appearance.

Needless to say we are completely in love with Miranda’s style, beauty and attitude.
