Fashion’s most prestigious award ceremony, the British Fashion Awards 2012 event was held on the 27th of November 2012 in London at The Savoy Hotel and Theatre. This is one platform where young and veteran fashion designers are celebrated and fashion’s most influential personalities are given recognition. It goes without saying that these trend creators and setters really do deserve such a worthy mention.
The British Fashion Awards 2012 was hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Gemma Arterton and was attended by international and British fashion designers, heads of fashion houses as well as British and American celebrities. The glamorous guest list included the likes of Stella McCartney, Sarah Burton, Christopher Kane, Alexa Chung, Samantha Cameron, Valentino and so many more.
Renowned designer Stella McCartney bagged top honors with a Designer of the Year award and another award for the Designer Brand of the Year. In our opinion, Stella deserved every bit of the award for her contribution to the industry and also for gracing thousands of celebrities who religiously stick to Stella McCartney when they have to glam it up.
A number of celebs gathered at the event turned up in Stella McCartney creations, justifying her victory all the more. The designer herself opted for an embellished strapless jumpsuit from her own creations. She paired up her dazzling black jumpsuit with a pair of black pointed toe pumps.
The ever so stylish Alexa Chung tasted victory for the third time in a row, year after year, with the British Style Award. The model and fashion editor lived up to her breathtaking style in an embroidered black dress by Simone Rocha which she paired up with sheer embroidered Nicholas Kirkwood booties along with a black boxy bag.
Alexa Chung’s award was presented to her by designer Valentino, who turned up at the event wearing a black striped suit.
Model Cara Delevingne coveted the esteemed Model of the Year award at the British Fashion Awards ceremony 2012. The model looked exquisite dressed in a mini metallic green dress which she paired fabulously with glittering silver metallic peep toe heels.
Model Jourdan Dunn looked elegantly ravishing in a body hugging midnight blue gown with a black satin clutch.
Among other notable A-listers, present at the gathering was Dita Von Teese who vamped it up with a Jenny Packham long sleeved gown and vampy makeup. Rita Ora looked splendidly cool in an aqua Vivienne Westwood gown and actress Salma Hayek gave a tribute to the designer of the year in a Stella McCartney black fringe Resort 2013 dress.
A fashion award ceremony calls for the best of outfits on the Red Carpet and our celebrities did just that with their dazzling and glamorous looks for the evening.
