Shakira gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday at a hospital in Spain. The couple Shakira and Gerard Pique decided to name the baby boy Milan. The delighted couple announced the arrival of Milan on Shakira’s official website. Milan was born on 22 January at 9:36pm.
Proud father FC Barcelona player Gerard Pique couldn’t control his happiness as he stepped out of the hospital. Donning a wide smile and a deep sense of contentment, Gerard, 25, rolled down his car window to speak with journalists outside the hospital. Shakira is believed to be recuperating well in the hospital.
Shakira’s parents and sister Lucy Mebarak were also spotted entering the hospital to welcome the baby boy who made a dashing entry in this world. The authorities at the hospital in Barcelona said that singer Shakira and footballer Piqué’s first child weighed around 6lbs. 6 ounces. They also confirmed that both mum Shakira and Milan are doing fine.
After reaching the hospital, Colombian singer posted a tweet around 4 hours before Milan’s birth. She requested her fans to pray for her. Soon after her message flashed in the world via Twitter, the ‘Whenever Wherever’ singer was flooded with best wishes and messages of support from her followers all around the world.
One of the sources earlier informed a Spanish paper that Shakira and Piqué planned the birth to ensure Piqué could be there to welcome his baby into this world. We also learned from our sources that the Colombian songstress asked for an all-female team of doctors to tend to her during the birth of her first child. Shakira was feeling ‘intense discomfort’ prior to Milan’s birth.
The singer and footballer Gerard have been dating for about 2 years.
Last week Gerard and Shakira requested their fans to connect with them in the online baby shower to support UNICEF and help the most underprivileged babies in the world.
We wish the couple and Milan the best of the best in this world.
