After an array of impressive roles that speak clearly about his mighty talent, and a career that spans over more than 18 successfull years, Hugh Jackman finally received his well deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Australian actor, who grew tremendously between his first days of acting in the 1995 TV series entitled “Correlli”, and his highly acclaimed Jean Valjean role in “Les Miserables”, was honored on December 13, 2012 in Hollywood, California.
Talking about the big honoring event, Hugh Jackman reveled that it felt like a surreal day: “I’m excited. The star is right here outside where I got to host the Oscars and if the movie gets nominated [for an Oscar], it’ll be nice to get up there and show a little bit of the show to everybody.”
Jay Leno was responsible for introducing Hugh Jackman during the emotional ceremony that took place on Friday. Hugh’s star was unveiled at 6931 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Madame Tussauds Hollywood where his iconic wax figure depicting him as Wolverine is currently on display.
Dressed in a Calvin Klein navy suit, Jackman posed happy for the photographers as he was joined for the ceremony by his wife, actress Deborra-Lee Furness, his son Oscar Jackman and daughter Ava Jackman. What really seemed like the perfect day for Hugh Jackman was topped by an equally wonderful news that came in just a day earlier. On Thursday, the actor was nominated for a Golden Globe following his majestic role for the upcoming musical adaptation of Les Miserables.
With critics suggesting that an Oscar nomination might also be on the way, ready to celebrate Jackman’s brilliant performance in “Les Miserables”, it’s no wonder the actor felt completely overwhelmed by the fortunate series of events that took place in a matter of days: “This is quite a ride… It’s a surreal experience. I’m a kid from the suburb of Barunga … This is completely surreal.” This just proves the fact that great things really do come to those who work hard enough.
Showing off their support, actresses Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried also joined their “Les Miserables” co-star and friend for the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. Anne delighted the audience dressed in a black Prada dress featuring a ’60s silhouette, a beaded collar and a gold waistband. Her signature pixie cut and a pair of black platform pumps styled her gorgeous look.
On the other side, the beautiful Amanda Seyfried looked casual-chic as she attended the ceremony wearing a light-colored Burberry London double-breasted trench coat. A pair of black tights and black suede ankle boots complemented Amanda’s lovely appearance.
The Hollywood star unveiling marked a special week in Hugh Jackman’s life, as well as a memorable step in his career. We’re curious to see what the future, or more exactly, what the next year will hold for the highly popular Australian actor. Will he manage to win a Golden Globe? An Oscar award maybe? I guess we’ll discover all that and more soon enough.
