Milan Fashion Week 2012: Armani Sets Stage on Fire

It was an evening of dazzle when Giorgio Armani pulled off his series of glittering stellar creations at the Milan Fashion Week 2012. The most anticipated Armani collection comprised from silk suits to radiant evening wear collection. Armani has always been known for his individuality and does his own style. His collection for 2012-13 showcased at Milan was also about no prints, lot of pants and loads of shine.

Colors and Prints:

The first part of the presentation saw suits in silk and some shorts all in grays, blue-grays and soft turquoises adorned with a silver hat tilted on one side. It was absolutely a sensuous visual delight when the models walked the ramp with perfectly designed suits teamed with silver heels.

Armani Skirt-Over-Trousers

The Armani skirt-over-trousers trend was resurrected while the brand showcased flowing trousers layered with fabric. The Italy born fashionista Giorgio Armani received huge accolades from the viewers as he presented his sparkling stellar creations one after the other.

The brand’s innovative theme comprised a dark night with constellations and stars. The background was navy blue. As light was cast on the silk robes, crystal ornaments and star studded heels shimmered as if viewed from a kaleidoscope. Millions across the globe witnessed this great event either through their TV sets or online.

The latest season of Armani had dresses for the youth. While the opening saw grey suits with fedora hats, this was then transformed into feminine, vibrant colors like pink and orange. The models flaunted fur coats, shorts, shining dresses, chunky jewellery, glittering bracelets, necklaces and earrings.

The Armani daytime jacket was tailored in a pearl gray with a matching skirt or wide trousers. The cocktail wear was in pastel shades of blue and pink paired with long skirts or cropped pants and a small jacket. As the evening passed, the designer offered an infinite range of beautiful gowns and sparkling pants. The shades used were midnight blue, slate gray and black that went perfectly with the night and the audience was spellbound. It was a collection that was never seen before.

 Emporio Armani collection

In the next half, Giorgio brought out his second line, the Emporio Armani collection. This was aimed at young clients where teenage models descended the ramp with sweet pastel silk shorts and a sporty pastel bucket bag to go with it. The natural colors used gave the collection an earthly sober look. The Emporio collection was all about silk tops and jackets combined with either short skirts or straight pants to give the young fresh look.

Earlier when the reporters caught up with Armani backstage and asked about the show and the collection for the evening, the maestro said, “This is about a woman who doesn’t have any airs about herself. She is rather young in age and at heart.”

The evening couldn’t have been better. The dazzle created by Armani was thoroughly priceless and it left the audience asking for more. And the rest is history.
