Paris Fashion Week Spring Summer 2013: Damir Doma: A Promising Newcomer

With a captivating sight of drizzle cuddling the world in its sensuous wet look and with you sipping freshly made coffee right off the counter, can there be something more akin to the essence of being in Paris? Yes, you got it. It’s the world’s fascination towards fashion – Paris Fashion Week!

At the Paris Fashion Week SS 2013, FashionofFashion editors were all gung ho about the innovative approaches to designing, about being treated to creativity just like the freshly made coffee with a whiff of novelty, and we must say, after the first day, we’re extremely amazed.

Paris Fashion Week Spring Summer 2013 started on a remarkable note with line of sexy models, looking slick wearing suave outfits. One of the most predominant factors that ruled all the presentations on day one included razor-sharp and stunning couture from seasoned designers and newcomers.

 Damir Doma

Paris Fashion Week Spring Summer 2013 marked new beginnings and brought forth debut designers with immense potential. Having built and established his line independently rather than working under big banners, Damir Doma looks like he is here to stay, impress and rule. Damir was one of the most promising designers at the show.

Born in the land of Croatia, the talented designer Damir Doma based his collection on the Eastern theme. Doma’s collection was a fusion of male oriented Cossack wear, MMA outfits and clips together with feminine strokes. In his grand presentation of the Eastern fashion, he showcased Russian Cossack attire, Oriental kimono-sleeve coats and the traditional even karate gear with white belt.

Firm and body hugging appearance gave way to loose-fitting outlines.

Damir Doma’s Colors

The wide gamut of colors included the main shade for the spring season black (which topped the charts in Damir’s collection), chocolate, indigo blue and sapphire blue.

Bulky leather vests, sophisticated white silk jackets with shorts, sandals with straps, marked trademark of his presentation.

Damir Doma’s Eyewear

Damir Doma’s metallic/khaki blend was sprinkled with a pristine eyewear in gold, platinum and more, in partnership with Berlin based organization, Mykita.

Damir Doma’s Background

Damir Doma introduced his first ever men’s collection in 2007. Soon he got A list celebs as his clients including Bruce Springsteen and Robert Pattinson.

The other presentations at Paris Fashion Week Spring Summer 2013 especially by Dries Van Noten and Guy Laroche were equally commendable.

On Wednesday foretastes of the Paris Fashion Week were reminiscent of the old world Shakespearean charm when the differences and distinctions between the manly and womanly were blurred reiterating that the mischievous gender bending was still fascinating and glamorous.

 Dries Van Noten

Dries Van Noten, presented one of the most attractive collections blending conventional men’s wear and women’s wear patterns with his flower-patterned statement in a pleasant take on various shades. His collection was an amalgamation of vividly different fabrics (such as organza, metallic and peplum), patterns, varied yet fine toned hues and cuts.

He showcased the ruffled 3 Dimensional flower patterned prints blended with checks, studded denim and more.

Guy Laroche Designer Marcel Morongiu’s

Guy Laroche designer Marcel Morongiu’s collection was inspired by Frank Gehry’s architectural landmarks.

It was a spectacular visual delight to see this collection with immaculate presentation of Gehry’s sculptural contours to perfectly adorn the slender feminine structure. Guy Laroche’s collection was a blend of vivacious colors, long outlines and more.

All in all, we came out extremely satisfied with the runway presentations of various designers. At the Paris Fashion Week Spring Summer 2013 there’s loads in store,

And we’ll keep you posted on more.
