The recently concluded Golden Globes saw the best in fashion and style on display on the red carpet. Haute couture gowns were visible aplenty and you might be forgiven for thinking you had walked into a fashion show. Only here you could see gowns from different fashion labels at one place, while on the ramp, you are restricted to only one label at a time.
And these leading ladies left no ‘stone’ unturned to complete their look with just the right accessories, showing exactly how important accessories are to the overall look.
So, all you girls who are fashionistas at heart, feast your eyes on some of the best looks flaunted at the Golden Globes 2013.
Solids and Sheers –Sizzling Style
On full display on the red carpet were gowns in solid colors that swept the ground, creating an elegant effect. Equally stylish were sheer numbers, shorter in length but no less short in their sizzling style appeal.
Best actress Jennifer Lawrence went strapless in a Christian Dior red gown that emphasized her tiny waist with the thin black belt. She accessorized perfectly with Chopard jewels and a Ferragamo clutch. Anne Hathaway chose an all-white Chanel ensemble and custom made white satin ALDO sandals.
Zero Dark Thirty star Jessica Chastain looked pretty in a light blue backless Calvin Klein gown. Brian Atwood heels and Harry Winston jewels completed her look.
You might be interested in knowing that the jewels on Jessica are worth $3 million.
Kerry Washington was ‘sexy’ personified with her Mui Mui sheer and shimmery outfit. The shimmer you see is the result of hand embroidered Swarovski crystals. Her heels and clutch are courtesy of Prada and the watch is a vintage Movado.
Jennifer Lopez Shows She is Still the Fashion Diva
I am sure you have not forgotten JLo’s iconic Versace green dress at the Grammy Awards in 2000. Now 13 years later and after two kids, Jennifer shows that she is still the fashion diva. She looked ‘dressed to kill’ in a body baring cream color Zuhair Murad lace gown. The sleeves were long. But did they reveal more than what they hid? You bet they did.
One might shy away from wearing golden outfits in regular everyday wear. But Golden Globes is the golden moment for celebrities and they may be forgiven for choosing gold. Particularly if it is a stylish cut-out ensemble from Michael Kors as Emily Blunt did. Her look is not loud, but chic, and oh-so-chic. Deep red Lorraine Schwartz earrings created the necessary contrast to up the glam quotient of the look.
And As Always Black Dominated
Nothing beats black for classy chic and sheer sophistication. The only way to make black more becoming is with some sexy skin show. Both Katherine McPhee and Rosie Huntington Whitley seemed to know this as they flaunted their legs in high slit black gowns.
Katherine opted for a Theyskens Theory gown, while Rosie sizzled in a Saint Laurent number.
