The much loved royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton celebrated Christmas with the Middleton family in Englefield, Berkshire, England on the 25th of December 2012.
Kate Middleton, who has maintained a low profile ever since the news of her pregnancy broke and who has been spotted rarely in public post her hospitalization due to severe morning sickness, kept the tradition of spending Christmas with the royal family aside, as she broke free from royal protocol and decided to spend this festive occasion with William and her family.
The Royal duo attended Christmas mass at St. Mark’s Church in Englefield with the Middletons. Joining Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge for the service were Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton and her siblings, the famous Pippa Middleton and Kate’s brother James Middleton.
Prince William seemed his usual sober self in a navy blue suit with a maroon tie standing beside his wife, who tried to hide her baby bump with her attire, but couldn’t hide her pregnancy glow.
Kate Middleton was all covered up in a classy burgundy coat, which she accessorized with a luscious red scarf and a stylish maroon clutch. Kate opted for a rather relaxed hairstyle by tying her hair up in a loose chignon, with her side fringes framing her face. The Duchess seems to have a very effortless sense of style. Everything looks great on her, no matter how lavish or how ordinary the individual pieces of clothing would actually look.
Kate Middleton was looking forward to spending a quiet Christmas without being noticed by the press. To her utter misfortune, her plea to spend Christmas away from the eyes of the press did not reach certain news outlets and she was photographed at the carol singing and Eucharistic service outside St. Mark’s church.
As for the rest of the Royal family, Queen Elizabeth II celebrated Christmas in Sandringham after her annual Christmas speech. She was joined in the celebrations by Prince Charles, his wife Camilla, Princess Beatrice, Eugenie, Prince Philip, Zara Phillips and her husband Mike Tindall.
Prince Harry missed spending Christmas with his beloved family. However, his Christmas celebrations seemed royal enough with sporting competitions, carol singing and merriment with the rest of the British troops posted with him at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan.
It seemed like a very royal Christmas indeed!
