The news that traveled round the world these past couple of days was officially and finally confirmed yesterday. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, or should we say Prince William and the beautiful Kate Middleton are expecting their first child. The happy rumors turned into a wonderful news just before the Holidays, for all of those rooting for the fabulous couple. Clarence House confirmed in a press release that the Dutchess Kate Middleton is expecting a baby indeed after months of relentless speculation: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.” And so are we, delighted and extremely excited.
After a fairy-tale worthy romance, a much anticipated engagement, a fabulous wedding and a year-and-a-half marriage, the beautiful royal love story continues with an entirely new chapter now. The eagerly awaited news gratifies a longtime wish, that both Kate and Prince William have been discussing from the very early stages of their marriage.
Yesterday afternoon, the Duchess was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital with morning sickness. The same official news release also stated that “as the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.” This probably made for the reason behind the official statement.
The speculations regarding Kate Middleton’s pregnancy started off a while ago, and as the media proved to always pay special attention to the Duchess’ daily garments, it wasn’t long before people started asking themselves questions. As in why Kate suddenly stopped belting her looks, a habit that became quite of a royal signature, or why she seemed to always carry big bouquets in front of her belly as of lately. Luckily, those proved to be more than just coincidences.
Now is when the internet is really going to start a frenzy with speculations about the royal baby’s gender, appearance, future name and even future outfits. And talking about outfits, are you as excited as we are to slowly discover Kate’s maternity wardrobe? Will she manage to top some of our favourite celebrities’ maternity styles? We don’t know yet but we will make sure to keep an eye on this particular aspect of Kate’s pregnancy.
In conclusion, all that’s left to say is congratulations to the happy couple, we are thrilled that Kate Middleton is expecting a baby and we cannot wait to meet the royal bun in 2013. But,until then, we are sure there will be plenty of exciting royal events to cover. So make sure to keep close.
