Yesterday night, the Savoy Hotel in London played host for one of the most prestigious award ceremonies that’s currently being held in the heart of England, celebrating reputation and recognizing the most influential people in today’s fashion scene. Filled with high-class celebrities and welcoming the most talented British designers, the 2012 British Fashion Awards made for an exciting and inspiring red carpet fashion display. It was all about mixing styles, colors and beautiful shapes
Making the most out of this season’s stylish trends and picking up original numbers that have yet to walk on the red carpet, the stars fiercely competed for the spotlight and while some managed to impress and dominate the scene, others failed to rise to the occasion. But we are not going to talk about them, and instead we will focus on the most stunning appearances of the night, the ones that brightened up the evening and helped build the absorbing red carpet fashion show we all loved so much.
Rita Ora signed one of the most surprising and beautiful appearances of the night at the 2012 British Fashion Awards. The British singer/songwriter shined in a light blue Vivienne Westwood gown. Evoking a timeless elegance, the stunning floor-length dress mixed a classic sillouethe with a super flattering fit and a stylish draped bodice. A precious diamond necklace, soft curls and nude lips perfectly styled the memorable chic appearance.
British fashion sensation Alexa Chung could not have missed from the prestigious 2012 British Fashion Awards, especially since she won the “British Style Award” for the third time last night. Alexa graced the red carpet wearing a black Simone Rocha Spring 2013 dress. Her flirty and sheer embroidered frock featuring a high-neckline, was perfectly complemented by a fun pair of Nicholas Kirkwood Fall 2012 floral embroidered mesh booties. Wavy locks and barely there make-up added the final touches.
Supermodel of the moment, the always beautiful Cara Delevingne was honored with the “Model of the Year” award during the 2012 British Fashion Awards. No surprise there. The blonde sensation looked stunning on the red carpet, dressed in a sleek metallic green mini-dress from the Burberry Prorsum Spring 2013 collection. She styled her futuristic garment with complementary metallic wedges, also from Burberry Prorsum’s Spring 2013 collection. Messy locks, ultra-dark brows and alluring cat-eyes finished off the dramatic look.
Lily Collins took an edgier red carpet approach for the 2012 British Fashion Awards. The lovely actress chose to showcase the classic black Mulberry pleated crepe Eliza dress, that she accented with golden jewelry and a gold statement ear cuff. Dark lips and a tousled hair-style complemented what seemed to be a Goth inspired, but still tremendously fashionable appearance.
Amber Le Bon graced the red carpet for the 2012 British Fashion Awards looking delightful in a Christopher Kane Resort 2013 ensemble. Her polished garment, featuring a corseted bodice and a flirty mid-length skirt covered in a rose nude print, was styled with statement jewelry, nude sandals and a contrasting green clutch. Soft waves and smoky eyes complemented the feminine appearance.
Amber Valletta completed the red carpet fashion display with an outstanding appearance playing upon warm rusty accents and a retro body-hugging sillouethe. Her Stella McCartney long-sleeved dress featured a high-neckline, and was impeccably styled with the Louis Vuitton minaudiere clutch and a pair of statement Louis Vuitton earrings. A side-swept hair-style and a nude lip color emphasized the gorgeous appearance.
