Yesterday evening, London celebrated the British Independent Film Awards 2012, during a fabulous event held at the Old Billingsgate Market. The star studded celebration served as excuse for celebrities to rock the red carpet once again in December, but unfortunately not everyone managed to rise at the occasion, so the lineup resembled more a game of hit and miss.
There were a few names that luckily succeeded in attending the event in pure style, playing upon elegance and simplicity. The expected sense of glamour we all love to indulge in during such fashionable events was ensured by actresses Elle Fanning, Felicity Jones and Zawe Ashton, alongside Jude Law and Ruth Wilson. Although the list is shorter than we’d expected, here are the best dressed stars that walked the red carpet for the British Independent Film Awards 2012.
Definitely not a stranger when it comes to princess worthy gowns, Elle Fanning developed quite a passion for unexpected red carpet garments, managing to keep her fans excited every single time she steps on one. Dressed to impress in an Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 ligh pink gown, the teen American actress posed confidently while looking super adorable at the British event.
She styled her silk organza floral embroidered frock featuring a bell-shaped skirt, with minimal jewelry and barley there make-up. A sleek bun and a pair of nude Oscar de le Renta pumps perfectly complemented the breathtaking appearance. Simple yet stunning.
Felicity Jones also chose to embrace a minimalist and chic direction for the stylish event, looking ultra feminine in a white Christian Dior dress. Her beautiful silk garment featured short sleeves, a sheer yoke and a delicate rose-petal print. Although the styling part wasn’t exactly perfect, as Felicity decided to accessorize with a bright red clutch and classic black pumps, it didn’t stop the beautiful actress from appearing radiant. Minimal jewelry, a simple cat eye make-up, natural lips and a chic up-do provided the finishing touches.
Jude Law also joined the celebrity list that attended the British Independent Film Awards 2012, set to celebrate the merit and achievement in independently funded British film making and to promote British film making and British talent to a wider audience. The actor looked casual chic sporting a traditional suit. He paired a military inspired Lanvin Spring 2012 button up jacket, with a fitted pair of grey pants. Brown shoes and his signature hair style provided the finishing touches.
Ditching the dress for the cold December night, Ruth Wilson still managed to look flawless on the red carpet, sporting a Jason Wu Spring 2013 ensemble. Her dashing combination paired a black long-sleeve silk blouse featuring sheer lace sleeves and a bow detail, with high-waist pants featuring side lace floral inserts. The sophisticated look was styled with a pair of black open-toe pumps, minimal jewelry and a gold Jason Wu clutch.
Zawe Ashton signed the most alluring red carpet look of the night, looking stunning in a Chalayan Spring 2010 dress. Her mid-length black one-shoulder gown was impeccably styled with a silver Jimmy Choo box clutch and a pair of bold red pumps.
A flawless make-up, including smoky eyes and nude lips, and an edgy shorter hair style complemented the gorgeous appearance.
